Erin Goes to Lake Powell

I went to Lake Powell last week and it was incredible as always! The picture above is part of the Tapestry Wall in the main channel. We camped in a canyon right next to this massive wall. I had a great time water skiing and wake boarding and started to feel like I was getting much better at wake boarding. Below are some pictures displaying my water skiing "skills".

But then the fun ended a little earlier than I had hoped. On Friday morning I crashed hard and the ski hit my knee and split it down the middle pretty deep. I was rushed back to Bullfrog Marina, about 10 miles away from our canyon and got 8 stitches in my knee. The last 24 hours were a little less fun since I couldn't get in the water or do much of anything but sit and keep my leg elevated. So I read, evened out my tan and took pictures of everyone else skiing. At least it happened at the end of the trip and not at the beginning!

Here I am in the boat ready to take the bumpy ride back to the marina to get stitches.

When I got back, Adrian had shaved my initial in the back of his head in tribute to me and my bum knee, but I think mostly to get a laugh out of everyone, since he was the on-board entertainment for the trip.

A nice sunset from the airplane window just before takeoff from SLC.

Are these two related?

So I've been a major slacker lately and haven't posted anything in a while, so I decided to go through my pictures. I found this rare moment where Evan and Grayson were both somewhat sitting still.

They drooled and chewed on everything at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Escape From Alcatraz

Well, the Alcatraz swim on Saturday was a success. The conditions were good and the water was a "comfortable" 64 degrees. Tyler and Christian, both wearing just speedos, did awesome! Tyler finished the 1.5 mile race in just under 33 minutes (first in his age-group for non-wetsuit males), and Christian came running through the finish 3 minutes later (pretty good for a guy who didn't train a single day! unless you count surfing...).

Mom and dad left at 4 am to catch the race; I happened to run into them on the street after I dropped the guys off for check-in - I didn't know they were on their way - so it was a pleasant surprise/coincidence. We went up and had breakfast overlooking the bay/Alcatraz while the swimmers were ferried out to the starting point. We made it back to Aquatic Park right as the first swimmers were approaching the finish.

What a cool weekend! I only wish Erin was there to share it with us!

Blankies

Grandma Shanna just finished Ben's blankie (Hey - she's been a little on the busy side!) and WE LOVE IT! She did an awesome job. I got to help pick out the material and I am very satisfied with our choices. Isn't it cute? The pattern material has a football motif.

Ben likes it too!

Paige wanted to get in on the blankie shots. She loves her blankie too.

I felt bad about how many posts I was posting, so I decided to make a blog specifically for my little family. Here is the address: http://japbbailey.blogspot.com

I will try to make a "links" section on this blog.

Wright's Lake Trip

We got to spend a few days with Mom and Dad at their "cabin in the woods" (aka the trailer). We survived a few rainstorms, a hike to Grouse Lake, and a neighboring camper with a deep voice and very loud nose blow! We had a great time and Paige even got to spend one night with just her and Gramma and Grampa - fun for them I'm sure!
