Paige's Sling

Since Ben has been hitching a ride around in my sling, Paige told me that she wanted a sling for her baby too. So we went to Wal-Mart and bought some fabric for 50 cents, and voila - Paige has a sling!

The Eagles Have Landed

Some high school volleyball teams honor and acknowledge their coach at the end of the season by presenting him or her with a bouquet of flowers, perhaps a plaque, or even a gift certificate. Bu that's not Monroe style. Here in North Hills we do it differently. Call it ghetto, call it 3rd world, call it what you will- but the double headed eagle bust stands for itself. Here's to a helluva season, coach.

Rio Vista Day Trip

We took a day drive to the booming metropolis that is Rio Vista a few weeks ago. It is actually the spot in the delta that the two lost whales "Delta" and "Dawn" made it to earlier this year. It is a quaint little spot, and it has a neat little campground that would be fun to camp at right on the delta. And thats about it. We just wanted to go for a random drive, so we took some of the roads that go along the delta. It was interesting. There are some really cool old mansions...that I didn't get any pictures of.

Here is the crew ready to go!

A bunch of sheep standing on a hillside:

Look kids, a barge!
This tree looked very windblown...and lonley.
We got to take 2 ferry rides. The guy who runs the ferry has one of the most fun jobs I can think of. He gets to cross one 50 yard stretch of the river about 20,000 times each day.
We were the first car on, so we got the best view:
What do you do in Rio Vista? Well - we found the local park and went crazy with the swings! Ben liked the swings almost as much as chewing on his hand:
Paige needed to take a "scratch" break while swinging:
Paige and Jeremiah had a swinging contest:
Nice form, Jeremiah. I bet you didnt' know he was that flexible!
Even Ben got in on the swing action. He looks a little frightened:
Mommy and Ben had a mini photoshoot. Hi Mr. Chubster.
This was a neat little church across from the park:
And so went our day. We opted for a quicker drive home and found Hwy 80. All in all, an interesting trip!

Like Father, Like Daughter

Last Sunday Paige and Jeremiah, who were both still getting over colds, went home from church after sacrament. For once in about 3 and 1/2 months, I was actually able to sit and listen to the meeting so I decided to stay. Ben was asleep on my chest the entire hour long meeting. Actually, he woke up with about 10 minutes to go but he just chilled on my lap, so it was basically like he was asleep!

Anyway - when I got home from church I found these two cuties that were looking so much like each other that I had to snap a picture. They were tired kids!

Yesterday Carissa was recognized for "Outstanding Achievement in all Areas" at an awards assembly. Here she is with Mrs. Wu, her teacher. In addition to the recognition, she was awarded a meal to Mimi's Cafe!

This Is How We Picnic

Yes, even for picnics Derek wears his outfit of choice- underwear. But that was ok with Carissa, so long as he took her directions on the correct way to do a picnic.

Boys and Dirt

Grayson's favorite thing to do these days is play in the dirt, while Derek's seems to be "planting" his "goo-berries and blueberries" and then protecting them from an everpresent Grayson who is intent on destroying everything Derek does.

No post would be complete without some shots of Derek posing.
Work it, Derek. Work it.

The Latest Haps at the Bailey's

Not much has been happening here in CP lately, but I did want to share some cute pictures from recent days.

We do a lot of building "trains" around here:

And Paige is always very busy lining up all of her babies in various events. Here they are all lined up against the wall.
Last night Jeremiah found a new use for my sling while I was doing the dishes. I guess I'll have to make a man sized one for him!
The other day while I was making the bed, I laid Ben down on the floor on one of the pillows. Well, Paige ran right over and grabbed a pillow for herself, pulled up my comforter and grabbed one of her library books. She started reading Ben a story (ok, so the story was just a made up one that kind of went along to the pictures, but anyhoo...) It was soooo cute! Ben was looking at the book, but as soon as I grabbed the camera he was more interested in me taking his picture.
Paigey really does love her little brother, and he loves her right back!

Derek- In All His Glory

This was after church a couple of weeks ago. I tried to catch him on his scooter, but he wouldn't slow down enough for me to get a decent picture. His outfit of choice- what can I say?

It's a BOY!!

Evan's going to have a new baby brother! We have to think of names, so suggestions are very welcome. I tried to scan the ultrasound picture of his penis, but it didn't turn out very well. So you'll just have to believe me. Two crazy boys running around... can't wait!
