Rio Vista Day Trip

We took a day drive to the booming metropolis that is Rio Vista a few weeks ago. It is actually the spot in the delta that the two lost whales "Delta" and "Dawn" made it to earlier this year. It is a quaint little spot, and it has a neat little campground that would be fun to camp at right on the delta. And thats about it. We just wanted to go for a random drive, so we took some of the roads that go along the delta. It was interesting. There are some really cool old mansions...that I didn't get any pictures of.

Here is the crew ready to go!

A bunch of sheep standing on a hillside:

Look kids, a barge!
This tree looked very windblown...and lonley.
We got to take 2 ferry rides. The guy who runs the ferry has one of the most fun jobs I can think of. He gets to cross one 50 yard stretch of the river about 20,000 times each day.
We were the first car on, so we got the best view:
What do you do in Rio Vista? Well - we found the local park and went crazy with the swings! Ben liked the swings almost as much as chewing on his hand:
Paige needed to take a "scratch" break while swinging:
Paige and Jeremiah had a swinging contest:
Nice form, Jeremiah. I bet you didnt' know he was that flexible!
Even Ben got in on the swing action. He looks a little frightened:
Mommy and Ben had a mini photoshoot. Hi Mr. Chubster.
This was a neat little church across from the park:
And so went our day. We opted for a quicker drive home and found Hwy 80. All in all, an interesting trip!
