Lake Pal

Despite leaving for our Lake Powell trip with an injured team (Lee's knee and Carissa's arm), we ended up having the best trip yet. The 8 hour boat ride to our destination was sunny, beautiful and relaxing. The guys took turns playing captain up top until we reached a section called San Juan, about 75 miles from leaving the Antelope Marina in Page, Arizona. There were very few boats around, which was conducive to lots of swimming and wakeboarding, as the water was calm all day. Carissa was really slowed down by her broken arm, as you can see.Actually, tuving was much more dangerous for the other chilren, who nearly suffered a concussion when hit with a big fiberglass cast on a bumpy ride.My fears that she would sit inside crying and reading books were quite unfounded.I hope Dr. Brookenthal doesn't get a hold of these pictures.I'm not sure that driving a jet ski was on his approved activities list. The kids mostly swam behind the houseboat. Grayson wasn't too keen on it all until later in the week. But then he only wanted to go "'wimming".

And shoot the water gun.Derek took some time out for dominoes. And we ate way too much. And found plenty of time for wakeboarding, etc.Even Lee made it up, although he took it easy on the jumps. All in all, we could not have asked for a better trip

Why haven't we done a Steed Trip to Pal yet???? It looks like so much fun!!! I'm sure the kids had a great time. Carissa's cast didn't slow her down one bit - just don't let Dr. RosenRosen find out.
