Evan's First Fever

Evan’s first fever was so high, he vomitted to the point of dehydration. So we had to take him to the ER. There he would be surrounded by a bunch of fat, bumbling nurses and two Student MDs who would ensure that he’d be traumatized with their anal prodding, killer catheter and torture needles. I’m sure finding baby veins is hard, but c’mon stabbing a baby four times is just unacceptable. Especially when one of the nurses filled an entire vile and then dropped it on the floor! They had poked up his left side so much that they had to draw more blood and put the IV on his right hand. So he couldn’t even suck his thumb for comfort.

All the blood splatter made the bed looked like a war zone. Evan was so exhausted that he finally just gave up and went to sleep. Thinking he was dead, one of the Student MDs tried to open his eyes and shine a flashlight in them. The nurses definitely put him in check, but I wanted to remind them that they weren’t at the top of their game that day either.

So between Mom’s busted foot – which meant no sight seeing and Evan’s first fever – which made him really clingy to his mom and dad, and wanted NOTHING to do with grandma and grandpa, their trip to DC probably won’t make their “Most Enjoyable Trips” list. SORRY MOM AND DAD!!

Poor baby Evan!!!! Those student doctors are idiots...I mean, except the oral surgeons of course...

I can't believe he was subjected to that! Well, I hope he's feeling better.

Poor baby!!! And poor Mireille and Brett!
Just for the record- my children were not anywhere near Evan and therefore cannot be blamed for this particular fever:)
