Happy (Belated) Birthday, Kirk!!!!

1983 certainly was a good year. I wish I had a few pictures of little Kirky – the little guy who was full of smart, comical quips. But these ones of Big Kirk from the last few years will have to do. We are all so lucky to have such an intelligent, humorous, gentle & loving brother. No one else could take your place in our family. Happy 26th Birthday! We all love you!

One More Event for June

I don't have any pictures for this post, but I figured you would all like to hear about it. You can all add one more event to this June. I just finished talking with my adviser and assuming I pass all my classes, I will graduate in June. All I can say is that my AP units really ended up paying off. I thought I wouldn't be able to use them since I had the AP units for calculus and United States history and also took those classes at UC Davis. Turns out I can count my AP units, which added 16 units to my transcript. I am very glad that I decided to go talk to my adviser about graduation earlier than they recommend.

This opens up all sorts of options as far as living arrangements, since we will no longer be tied down to living in Davis. I guess we'll see where I can get a job. Also, I need to start looking into the GREs so I can have the option of going to graduate school. So much more to think about, but it is exciting - like being able to fast forward my life six months.

Summer Time for the Kid in Davis

Time for an update!

I finally finished the school year in mid June. It turned out well: I got credit for working at the dump and I managed have my best quarter GPA wise so far. According to my calculations, I have three or four more quarters left before I can graduate. I am done with my GE's so all my classes are either hydrology or engineering classes. Luckily, I am enjoying them and I have actually used some of the stuff I learned for projects at the landfill.

I spent the Fourth of July week in Aptos (south of Santa Cruz) with Carrie's family. We had an awesome house right over the beach. The Fourth was absolutely insane - drunk people blowing stuff up all over the place. I went golfing (although it didn't quite grab me) and even made ribs for everyone (with an assist from Brett). I posted some pictures from the week on facebook and everyone should be able to look at them by following this link:
